USCCB: Number of religious sisters
edit_button

These from the US Conference of Catholic Bishops, the National Religious Retirement Office:

The number of religious sisters at the end of 2006 is 55,500. Average age is 70. 73% are 65 and older.

Let us pray that vocations increase for the Traditional religious orders. They are, after all, the only orders with newer vocations. Some of the traditional orders that I am thinking of are listed in the sidebar of Holy Vocations.
