Pentecost Approaches
COMMUNION - Sunday within the Octave of the Ascension
John 17: 12, 13, 15

"Father, while I was with them, I kept them whom Thou gavest Me, alleluia; but now I come to Thee: I pray not that Thou shouldst take them out of the world, but that Thou shouldst keep them from evil, alleluia, alleluia."

As the 1st Class Feast of Pentecost approaches, remember to pray in a special manner for the gifts of the Holy Ghost: wisdom, knowledge, counsel, understanding, fortitude, piety, and fear of the Lord.

As a special means of penance in order to prepare for this feast, please read the "Catechism on the Holy Spirit" by St. John Vianney. Please also consult my prior post entitled "Prayers for Pentecost."

Prayer:

Let the brightness of Your glory shine upon us, Almighty God, so that the Holy Spirit, light of Your light, may strengthen the hearts of those who are reborn in Your grace. Through Our Lord...
