Additionally, it contains the Roman Rite of Exorcism mixed in, which should never be said by lay people - only specially trained priests may say it - or in dire circumstances I understand that the bishop may grant authority to a priest to say it. More exorcists are being trained by the Vatican as evil is increasing exponentially. The real long version may be seen at www.catholicity.com. But it should not be used freely by the faithful. Even priests should not use it for every situation.

Much care should be taken and priests should be consulted in matters of demonic influence, priests who know the powers they possess and how to employ specific means to combat demonic influence. Much information can be found at sensus traditionis (another blog) - some good conferences concerning Angels and demons.

Also, in the diocese of Tulsa, this rite was employed by all priests on the Feast of the Assumption to combat the planned black mass in the state. It was great to see a bishop instruct his priests to use this rite - which they had full power to use without specific jurisdiction.

God bless and the Angels protect us,
JacobAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00679334208138985085noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13804788.post-11404238439978966642013-10-06T09:24:35.041-05:002013-10-06T09:24:35.041-05:00I am so happy to have gotten this through my Faceb...I am so happy to have gotten this through my Facebook this morning. It is an Endlish translatin of the prayer found in section 13, chapter 3 of the Rituale Romanum. Chapter 1 of section 13 gives the general rules for exorcism; chapter 2 gives the actual Rite of Exorcism, and chapter 3 contains this prayer under the title, "Exorcism of Satan and the Fallen Angels." The rubric says "The following exorcism can be used by bishops, as well as by preists who have this authorization from their Ordinary." Maybe that restriction has been lifted after Vatican II; I am not knowledgeable about such changes in legislation.
Fr. We recently bought prayer cards, because my wife and I hadn't been taught. We think this is great. St. Michael is the patron saint for my family. We all have Michael or Michelle in our name (for me Michael is my confirmation name).RobKPhDhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16220380405943891911noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13804788.post-1154261879458419092006-07-30T07:17:00.000-05:002006-07-30T07:17:00.000-05:00If I can remember, I will say the shorter version ...If I can remember, I will say the shorter version after Mass.
