This blogspot article came up relatively high in the query results on Google, when searching for his name. Thus, it seems to me plausible that he at least reads this from time-to-time. If you do, Mr. Maguire, why would you label yourself as a Catholic theologian and actively oppose Church doctrine. This is not a minor issue of Church law. This article I read was you defending abortion.Danielnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13804788.post-45034837187670262342011-07-16T12:01:13.511-05:002011-07-16T12:01:13.511-05:00This guy is a contributor to the United Church of ...This guy is a contributor to the United Church of Christ's book, Heterosexism in Contemporary World Religion, and is considered an "authority in Roman Catholicism"! The book is about how, Homosexuality is not a problem: heterosexism is, and heterosexism is often supported by religious statements and practices against sexual minorities. This book seeks to draw out strands in each major religion that are antidotal to such practices and attitudes.

I left the UCC in 2006 for a variety of reasons, including the above, and their hatred for Israel. I was searching for the truth, and finally found it in the Catholic Church, and became Catholic, with my daughter, in 2010. I feel blessed every day to be out of there, and finally .... HOME.J. How in the world did he get a degree in theology? He makes wild claims that every theologian is against the Church's teaching ect. The man is crazy. I'm only a high school student and I can tell you for sure that his agreements have little to do with theology. There is no way that you can possibly conclude from the Bible or anything else for that matter that his writing makes sense. I feel so sorry for any person who has to sit in his class and listen to him spew blasphemies. The only good that could come from him teaching is that his students might actually want to learn enough to prove him without a doubt wrong.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13983552044313059697noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13804788.post-54472880035501711512009-08-22T23:58:59.422-05:002009-08-22T23:58:59.422-05:00This comment has been removed by the author.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13983552044313059697noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13804788.post-73697072016118744692009-05-31T19:12:36.251-05:002009-05-31T19:12:36.251-05:00I often pray for the people of anti-choice persuas...I often pray for the people of anti-choice persuasion to see the compassion in the pro-choice movement. Everyone's position is rooted in compassion and trying to silence a theologian cannot be consistent with Jesus' teachings.

Let us all remember that we must love one another. Let us not point out the sliver in our neighbor's eye when not noticing our own problems.

Dan Maguire inspires many people to serve the poor and the Catholic Church is lucky to have his voice.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13804788.post-23655601435490302412008-08-10T08:46:00.000-05:002008-08-10T08:46:00.000-05:00It's a shame that those Bishops don't clean out th...It's a shame that those Bishops don't clean out the Vatican attic to discover the support of abortion, birth control and same-sex relationships in Catholic Tradition.
