it was only a matter of time...

it's a shame that an organization that claims to stand up for the rights of the poor and marginalized among us cannot see that the smallest, most vulnerable members of our society are being slaughtered every day.

I second that feeling. What a shame that this organization has decided to disregard the lives and rights of the unborn.

I agree with both of your comments. I only can hope that our prayers and emails will result in Amnesty International not taking this pro-death stance.

God is with us, and I know in the end His will shall be done.

I e-mailed them to find out if it's true. I've found too many false rumors get spread in the internet to jump on this story immediately.

No response yet.

If it is true, they'll lose my support - and I'll urge others to quit.

I heard about this too, but I heard it differently. Amnesty is planning on taking a position about how women should not be denied access to health care in part due to fear of prosecution. In places like El Salvador where they have outlawed all abortions their statute requires that the woman who had an abortion be prosecuted. Women are becoming gravely ill to the point of death from the illegal abortions that are still being performed. If they seek medical treatment they can be put in jail for up to 30 years. Over 100 women have been prosecuted in El Salvador for seeking medical treatment after complications from an illegal abortion.
