Georgetown University to Remove Pro-Abortion Links

Earlier this year I posted a link to the Cardinal Newman Society's review of Catholic university websites, many of which posted links to abortion promoting places. I was outraged over this because a Catholic university must, first and foremost, stand up for Catholic values. That is why I am extremely pleased that Georgetown University is revising its website to remove links to groups that perform or encourage abortions.

This is wonderful news, and I ask you to please join me in praying for an end to abortion and for all of God's children to have a chance at life - the most basic of all principles.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, in Your love for us, protect against the wickedness of the devil, those helpless little ones to whom You have given the gift of life.Touch with pity the hearts of those women pregnant in our world today who are not thinking of motherhood.Help them to see that the child they carry is made in Your image - as well as theirs - made for eternal life.Dispel their fear and selfishness and give them true womanly hearts to love their babies and give them birth and all the needed care that a mother can give.We ask this through Jesus Christ, Your Son, Our Lord, Who lives and reigns with You and Holy Spirit, One God, forever and ever. Amen.

You are so f-ing crazy! Listen to yourself, seriously. What gives you the right to infringe your belief systems onto me and the rest of the world? Now you people are having laws reversed(see South Dakota) to felonize Abortion? Assuming you are a man and have no stinkin' clue, but if you were a woman, would you want to have your rapists baby? Do you condone "do it yourself" abortion kits on the Internet? Women are going to die b/c you Anti-choicers are providing a demand for backroom abortions. Can your pious, holier-than-thou conscience handle that? You people make me sick. You're so far right, you're wrong.

Anon,
Your same argument was the same crappy argument the Southern US used during slavery.
"They aren't even human".
Oppression is oppression, pal, no matter how you slice it.
These arguments are so lame and tired.
1) It's irrelevant if the woman 'doesn't have a clue'. Good deal. Put the baby up for adoption.
2) Having a rapist for a father is not a capital crime. Nor is having Down's Syndrome. Or having your grandfather for your father. None of this makes a baby undeserving of living.
I'm sick to death of people in this country deciding who is deserving of life and who isn't. And yes indeed. I'm anti-capital punishment, too.
No way. People like me don't condone ANY ABORTION KITS! Life is life is life is life.
3) Are you really that blind? Women are dying from botched abortions! Women are dying from RU486.Women are suffering from Post-Abortive trauma, most of the time in silence and it shame. But you wouldn't know that because it doesn't make the nightly news. Abortion harms women, no matter how much people try to pretend it doesn't.
4) Yep. My conscience can handle protecting the life of the most innocent people on earth.
5) You make me sick, too. Well, not you, but your elitist views on who's worthy of living. (Although it's not surprising that the abortion movement is elitist. The founder of PP was a horrendous racist hell-bent on eugenics.)
The difference in us is that you go around spewing rhetoric. People like me pray for mercy and conversion for your soul.
6) BONUS: I was once just like you. That's right. I went around trying to use those same arguments. I'm ashamed of that, I'm embarrassed of that, but I believe in the mercy of Christ and the healing of Confession, because I've experienced it firsthand.
Look, here's the fact. From the time a child is conceived, she has her very own DNA, her very own genetic code. She is her very own person.
That's science.
I love women. I think it's disgraceful what this country has sold them on.
A generation has swallowed the pablum of the PP movement, and our society is paying for it.

Moneybags,
Thanks for the info.
I'm sick of so-called 'Catholic' institutions sucking the tax-free teat of the government while not even pretending to be Caholic.

Ma beck,
You don't sound very Christian. That slave analogy is lame and tired. Not even close to being the same. I pray to my God that your shitty little myopic attitude of assuming you know what's right for everyone else is miraculously, divinely intervened with. How dare you and your righteous indignation condescending my body from your paper-pulpit. My God doesn't appreciate that either. If you want all life to be treated with kid gloves, stop eating cheeseburgers and veal chops then. What makes those innocent lives any different from the blastocyst? Shit, while you're at it, better stop eating Egg mc-muffins too. Embryos y'know....DNA....And PS>Grow a spine and stop waffling with all of that crap about me "making you sick also, well not me per say, but my ideas". Bite me.... I make you sick? Good. That's my job and I apparently succeded in it.

Anon,
That 'slave analogy' is dead on.
You know it, and it drives you crazy.
It's not 'your body'. I thought when I pointed out that the child has her own DNA from conception that point would have become clear.
It's totally amusing that you bring up cheeseburgers, because I came really close to mentioning in my post that I'M A VEGETARIAN but then I thought to myself "That's totally irrelevant and who cares?"
To compare the life of an animal to the life of a human is ridiculous.
(I was going to use it tongue-in-cheek, after I said "I'm anti capital punishment. Hell, I'm a vegetarian.")
Blastocysts, embryos, middle aged.
These life stages all occur after conception, Anon. At no stage should they be terminated.
As I've stated, your baby is NOT your body, but for arguments' sake:
your point about laws being made about 'your body' being unfair is wrong. There are all sorts of laws against tattooing, body mutilation, suicide, etc.
Try to bait me some more, Anon.
You won't get anything but my pity.
I rewrote my original post, took out a few words, and made it more charitable.
I'm sorry if you wanted my hatred. Sorry if you wanted me to 'eff you'.
Now, if you want to have an adult dialogue, we can.
But if you want to continue to spew vitriolic rhetoric, I'm out.

You poor pathetic person. You really have a God complex. Laws? Whose laws? Just because your Church says it's so, doesn't necessarily make it that way. And yes, I too am a vegetarian, and Animals have just as much heart and soul as humans. Probably more if you take a look at humanity as a whole today. I would save my Dog before you, that's for sure. Your religion is you opinion and your belief. You are not God, and further more, how can there be room for everyone in this world with your church's brand of intolerance. I am not buying what you are selling, neither is the majority of the people in this country. Your cause cannot and will not prevail. Choice is too important to people. If God didnt want me to make personal choices, why on Earth did God give me the capacity for reason, or free will for that matter? I really don't care about you and your tiny little world of dimwits, but leave the rest of us alone. You may not have Roe v. Wade
You may not!!!!

Anon,
Actually, because my Church says it's so, it IS so, but I don't expect you to believe that. I don't have a God complex. I worship God. Someone who believes it's okay to kill what God created has a God complex. Seriously, find a better argument.
It's nice to know with what esteem you hold humanity. It explains your abortion position.
God gave you personal choices because he did not create robots. Someone that is loved out of fear is not loved at all. That's not what God wants. God isn't a tyrant.
God wants you to love him freely because you should love him.
God doesn't want me to put a bullet in another man's head, or to squish a puppy, or to enslave a human, or to slap a 5-year old, or to do a lot of stuff, but trust me. With free will, a lot is done. Doesn't make it right.
But regardless, you will still have free will.
Otherwise, I will just point out to you that the times appear to be changing. Louisiana has now joined SD, MO, and MS.

Anonymous,

I am not going to join this discussion because there is nothing to add. Ma Beck you have said the truth. Anonymous, God is love and the truth. If we follow Him and His Church we also can be holy. It really baffles me that people would condone the murder of an unborn child. Why would people like yourself support the right of an unborn baby to be killed? Murder is wrong, and I will keep fighting against laws that attack the dignity of human life. I will fight against Roe v. Wade; it's only a short time before it will be wiped away.

I'm done with this discussion as I don't want to fill up this post's comments in an arguement.

And anonymous, show some respect. Don't use words like "f-ing" or "poor pathetic person". Everyone is worth something and those words are not appropriate.

Goodbye you lost little Sheeple. It's obvious I am in the land of the lost. Yours is not the only way, so stop being so damn righteous about what you can't even prove. It kills you people to believe that we don't. Sorry sucker, I ain't biting. You will never and can never sway opinion back to the way you want it. Roe v. Wade is out of the box(no pun intended) and you'll never, NEVER get it back! Mark my words. Once we move forward as a society, it's a trend that the majority does not digress. Keep living in your little fairy tail world with all of your hocus pocus cultish non-sense. PS> The Catholic church is based on Paganism and is possibly one of the most corrupt institutions in the world. and PSS> Used to run brothels for their male followers well into the 18th century. How many people has your church put to death over the past couple thousand years in the name of God and your own, man made righteousness? That's killing and that's wrong. Oh> and your Pope used to be a Nazi. Great pick there........Religion, the Opiate of the Masses.....
