Microsoft, Warren Buffet, and Gates Foundation on Abortion

According to today's LifeNews Report, Warren Buffett, the CEO of Berkshire Hathaway and the second richest man in the world, will donate 80% of his fortune to the pro-abortion foundation set up by Microsoft founder Bill Gates and his wife. Buffett plans to give them 12,050,000 in Class B shares of Berkshire Hathaway. One share sells for $3,000, and this would give the Gates foundation another $37 billion.

The Gates Foundation has given the Planned Parenthood Federation of America almost $12.5 million since 1998. These funds are used to persuade teenagers to support abortion as well as advance abortion in the United Nations. The International Planned Parenthood abortion business has received almost $21 million from the Gates foundation over the last seven years. These funds were used to kill unborn babies in third world countries.

This is horrible, horrible news. I ask you to contact the Gates Foundation and urge it to stop supporting Planned Parenthood and abortion.

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is a very large and active philanthropic organization. I don't necessarily agree with your assertion that Buffet giving them billions of dollars is horrible. Giving money to charity is a good thing. however, what the charity does needs to be good also to complete the act. The Gates foundation donated 7.5 million dollars to the Fulcrum Foundation last year.

The Fulcrum Foundation is a non-profit organization that provides tuition assistance to children enrolled in Catholic schools in the Seattle Archdiocese. I agree that the Gates Foundation could do a better job of discernment in what causes it supports. Abortion is a horrible crime against humanity. Planned Parenthood is an instrument of death and destruction. But, that's not why the Gates Foundation gives them money. They think they are doing good because they believe the lies of Planned Parenthood and only see the image that they project. The real challenge is in getting Melinda to embrace the Catholic faith of her childhood with extreme fidelity. Her being a devout Catholic could truly change the world.

You are right to organize a campaign to petition the Gates Foundation to stop supporting Planned Parenthood. But it needs to be done with charity, keeping in mind that ultimately we want Bill and Melinda, in faith, to fully embrace the Church Christ established.

Are monopolists conservatives? Oh, I think not. Open source is charity, and it is free, competitive, and noncoercive.
