Nicole Kidman is still Catholic

American Actress Nicole Kidman is journeying back to the Catholic faith as she prepares for her marriage to Keith Urban on June 25, 2006.

"For Nicole, you know this is a spiritual homecoming, coming back to the church and her faith in her old parish," said Jesuit Father Paul Coleman, a longtime friend of the Kidman family who advised them on the annulment of Kidman's marriage with Tom Cruise.
As someone exposed to both Scientology and Buddhism, she has remained faithful to the Catholic Church and the only truth of Christ, the Son of God. She recently told the Philippine Daily Enquirer: "Catholicism guides me. I certainly have a strong belief. I try to go to church regularly, and I try to go to confession." She has also asked for donations to Sydney Children's Hospital instead of wedding gifts.

Let us pray for her and thank God for leading her back home.

Unless I'm mistaken, she is a 'Catholic In Name Only', or CINO. She may go through the rituals, but really doesn't believe in ANY of the dogma nor doctrine of the Church.

Very similar to Senator John Kerry of MA. He is a CINO as well, others refer to people like Kidman and Kerry as 'ritualistic-Catholics' who enjoy the smells and bells, but not the teachings.

More commonly they are regarded as Cafeteria Catholics.

How disappointing. I hope she is changing for the better as the article makes one think.

Tom,

Look at her most recent films. In fact wait to watch her next set of films and tell me if you think she is not a CINO.

I could be wrong, which I will admit if I am, but just looking at her entire body of work of film making as well as full frontal nudiy in theatre, she clearly loves the smells and bells and art, but that's it.

These are superficial observations, but actions speak louder than words. Wait until her next film and we'll revisit the subject.

God bless.
