Henry Purcell: Thou Knowest Lord...

Music by Henry Purcell (a 17th century Baroque composer) via New Liturgical Movement.  I recommend the CD: The Works of Henry Purcell

In the Ode to St Cecilia, the air: "wondrous machine" seems to fit the words of the Benedictus far too well and IMHO it (and possibly the remainder of the Ode although TBH I have not yet looked closely at the rest of it)was composed for a mass that died prematurely when William of Orange took the throne.
