Today was scheduled to be a normal Sunday where I just go to Mass and not have to participate. So, I brought my rosary and a great St. Padre Pio prayer book with prayers to the Eucharist (one of the litany of the Blessed Sacrament, my favorite litany.) About 5 minutes before the start of Mass, Father came over to me and said the lector had not showed up, so he asked if I could lector since I am a lector some Sundays.
I served as a lector on shorthand notice. But, after Mass I went back to my first pew and found out that my Rosary and prayer book were taken by someone. I haven't found them yet and only can pray I ever will. Please say a prayer that I might get these back. That was a very special Rosary, and I don't think I can ever replace that prayer book.

This seems so strange.... Why would anyone take such a personal and meaningful item????? Perhaps a child, not knowing? Someone with a mental dissability? can you put an add in the bulletin? I'm so sorry. Then again, maybe it ends up in the hands of someone needing it and blessing the person...
Am so sorry that you have lost something so precious to you:( and will pray that they will be returned to you:).
Sweet Jesus, Saint Anthony was always a ready helper in time of need. Though he preferred to live as a hermit, leaving his cave only to attend Mass and sweep the nearby monastery, he filled in for a scheduled speaker who failed to keep his commitment. Afterward, he had to travel constantly, because his reputation as a great preacher spread widely. Since he’s become the patron saint for finding lost articles, I ask him to be my ready helper in time of need. Though sometimes it seems petty to ask his help in finding items I’ve misplaced, I thank You, Lord, for giving me this saint who cares. Saint Anthony, pray for me.
Amen.
Peace of Christ to you.
St. Anthony -- do your thing!
Thank you all for your comments and support. As of yet I have not found it and no one has turned it in. I doubt someone picked it up because they needed it because my parish has a whole pile of rosaries in the back.
I'm hoping that I will be able to place an ad in the bulletin. I'm praying for St. Anthony's intercession.
I'm so sorry to hear that too, and I understand how you feel. I've had the same experience too. Perhaps someone mistook it.
Keep praying.
