I wanted to pass this warning along. The sad truth is that there are numerous "spiritual" books that go completely against the Word of God. Please be cautious and vigilant in all you read. Trust God and the Church for anything spoken against either of them is a lie.Beware of the book, Conversations with God...Two particular books, "Conversations with God" and "Conversations with God for Teens," written by Neale D. Walsch, sound harmless enough by their titles alone. These books have been on the New York Times best sellers list for a number of weeks, and! these publications make truth of the statement, "Don't judge a book by its cover/title." The author purports to answer various questions from kids using the "voice of God". However, the "answers" that he gives are not Bible-based and go against the very infallible word of God... [One girl] poses the question "I am living with my boyfriend. My parents say that I should marry him because I am living in sin. Should I marry him?" His reply is, "Who are you sinning against? Not me, because you have done nothing wrong." Another question asks about God's forgiveness of sin[s]. His reply "I do not forgive anyone because there is nothing to forgive. There is no such thing as right or wrong and that is what I have been trying to tell everyone, do not judge people. People have chosen to judge one another and this is wrong, because the rule is "'judge not lest ye be judged.'" And the list goes on. Not only are these books the false doctrine of devils, but in some instances even quote (in error) the Word of God. These books (and others like it) are being sold to school children (The Scholastic Book Club), and we need to be aware of what is being fed to our children. Our children are under attack. So I pray that you be sober and vigilant about teaching your children the Word of God, and guarding their exposure to worldly mediums, because our adversary, the Devil, roams about as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8). And how many of us know that lions usually hunt for the slowest, and weakest and YOUNGEST of its prey. Pass this on to every Believer you know. God bless! And, if in doubt, look at the books yourself.

Thank you for the warning.
How sad that people believe they are turning to "help" or to find hope in God's Word, and it's really some author misconstruing the Truth.
+J.M.J+
Anyone else catch the contradiction in that alleged quote from "God"?
"There is no such thing as right or wrong.... People have chosen to judge one another and this is wrong..."
How can judging people be wrong if there is no such thing as "wrong"?
Call me crazy, but I don't think God would make such a stupid blunder.
In Jesu et Maria,
Rosemarie
Know anything about this book?
--- Ask the Bible Geek: Answers to Questions from Catholic Teens ---
Walsch must think she's God.
Matthew, you're very right. Unfortunately, too many people think they can decided morality for themselves so they avoid the words of the Holy Church. It is as if they do make themselves "gods".
Anonymous, No I haven't heard of that book before. Would you like me to do some research of it for you?
Rosemarie, I am glad that you are thinking critically about this, however, you are not looking at the context of each use of the word 'Wrong'
The first time God says wrong, he is referring to moral right and wrong, The second refers truth. Truth does have rights and wrongs, either something is true, or its not.
This is what God talks about early on about how limited language is.
And Matthew, Neale is a guy.
Finally, Just read the first book. If you are true of faith then this book should not effect you. However, if you are afraid that this book might undermine what you thin, might pierce your safety bubble, If your afraid that you might learn something, then go ahead, don't read it. If there is one thing that these books have taught me is that it doesn't matter, I love you regardless.
tggekko,
Love you, too. That's why I'm telling you that if you're a Catholic, you need to spend more time studying the true faith. And if you're not a Catholic, then you should find out about the true faith, so you can know who Jesus Christ really is.
When a man,(not God) claims to speak (write) for God, if he's not lying he wouldn't tell a young girl it's okay to live and have premarital sex with her boyfriend. You can be sure that's not God's voice. God loves his children and when they're in troube, as that kid surely was, He'd help them to get out of it, not tell them "it's okay, keep on hurting yourself."
Learn about Jesus, tggekko, the way, the truth, and the life. This Neale character does not know the true God. He writes only about the god he has created to please himself. But God can not be created by you or I. He is who He is, and He has revealed Himself to us through His Son, and through the Church that His Son built on the rock of Peter. Neale's god would leave that young girl to wallow in sin and trouble. The one true God won't.
Love you, tggekko. May God bless you and may Mother Mary keep you.
The first time God says wrong, he is referring to moral right and wrong, The second refers truth. Truth does have rights and wrongs, either something is true, or its not.
Let me see...
1.There is no such thing as right or wrong....
2.People have chosen to judge one another and this is wrong...
You said the first one refers to morality, while the second one refers to truth. Either I'm so dumb I can't understand your logic, or you used the wrong words.
If there's no such thing as morality, I don't see why it's wrong to judge people. It's a choice anyway. What's so wrong about judging people? Whatever that doesn't harm others is harmless, right? ;)
The truth is there's no such thing as "right" or "wrong"; it's only a matter of perspective. Plain and simple, "don't judge people". Jesus taught us that, didn't he?
If you want to warn others about the book, you should read it, study it, find its flaws and show them to the world. You shouldn't just read others' reviews and think you know all there is about the book. From what I've read, the review took the book totally out of context; like how others did to the bible. Let your mind open and see for yourself if what it says make sense.
God loves us all equally.
supposedly the conversations with god books are wrong but still nobody says anything about all these priest molesting young kids! i think i would rather stick to conversations with god!
Do read the book before you call it a blasphemous lie. :)
I have listened to a good bit of the book on CD. When I first started it, I knew it was nuts, but wanted to finish it because I think the more we understand the arguments against our beliefs, the better we are able to handle them.
For those who are impressionable eg teens or people looking for advice, I would steer away from this stuff.
The CWG series is required reading for anyone who finds themselves questioning their current religion and anyone who isn't happy with the answers the church and the bible provide for questions about ourselves, God, life and death. This is my new bible.
I agree very much that right and wrong do not exist. Allow people the right to beleieve what they choose. the book isnt going to cause violence in the world. Its a tool that people can use when their old beliefs no longer suite them.
Sorry but this book is against what bible teaches us.. We should try to know what God wants for us rather than following our own desires. I'm currently reading the book and have found it contradicting the word of God. If we plant in the farm of our natural desires we are sure to die but if we follow the God's will for us, we will have eternal life.
've read "The Complete CWG" cover to cover and was sucked in so deeply. I even read it a second time cover to cover. I started it a third time. I was at a weak point in my spiritual life and indeed in my life generally. So I was very vulnerable. I looked upon CWG as the "truth". My whole attitude towards the Church changed and in fact I was absent from it for a number of years. The worst part is, I had shared snippets from the book with my teenage daughter.
Throughout the book there are some beautiful words, supposedly from God Himself, which I found quite comforting ... and so these justified the book as being "truth". But looking back now ... I dare say these were the mask of the evil one.
From my experience this is a very harmful book for any Catholic and indeed any Christian. CWG and anything associated with Neale Walsch is a blatant attack against the Catholic Church. On a YouTube clip he openly laughs at the Church and poisoning the minds of hundreds of people at the same time.
I've held onto the book, God only knows why. But having made this statement I think I will burn it ... lest it falls into the hands of some other vulnerable soul.
I take a moment to pray to God the Father, with Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit to touch the hearts of all Christians who have been harmed by these untruths and to guide them back to the only Truth and the only Love of Jesus crucified. Amen
Yes. Exactly. Be careful what we are feeding our children indeed. It is time to move on from religion. Can't you all see that all religion does is cause problems? Wars? Argumemts? And so on. If you are all so right, then which religion is actually the truth? There are so many religions with so many different beliefs surely there must be one that actually speaks the truth??? Yet you would all argue that your particular religion is in fact the right one. Stop living in the past. Grow Up. We do not have such a negatively judgemental God the way in which you speak of him. God is our universe. Simply live your life not by rules. As there are none. Life doesn't have a rule book. So stop making up rules. Rules only created 2000 years ago. The earth has been around for billions of years. We seemed to survive just fine for that period. Nothing you say makes any sense. So please. If you want to stop feeding your children rubbish. ... then you must learn to shut your own mouths first! Because you're the ones destroying this world!
Pope Benedict XVI in his book, Jesus of Nazareth, confronts the modern heresy that every religion, or non-religion, is equally valid. “The prevailing view today is that everyone should live by the religion…in which he happens to find himself already. This, it is said, is the path of salvation for him. Such a view presupposes a strange picture of God and a strange idea of man and of the right way for man to live….Does someone achieve blessedness and justification in God’s eyes because he has conscientiously fulfilled the duties of blood vengeance?...Because he has declared his opinions and wishes to be norms of conscience and so made himself the criterion? No. God demands the opposite: that we become inwardly attentive to His quiet exhortation, which is present in us and which tears us away from what is merely habitual and puts us on the road to truth. To “hunger and thirst for righteousness”—that is the path that lies open to everyone; that is the way that finds its destination in Jesus Christ.” P. 92, Jesus of Nazareth, 2007
I don't think you should ban books just because it goes against your beliefs. That is exactly what dictators do to have control over people.
I encourage you to read it and use it or discard it using your own personal opinion and not just judge it by a single quote that is out of context. The book explains this "contradiction".
Be warned, the book does contradict many of religions beliefs, but in my opinion, if God was here I seriously doubt he would say that this or that religion is the right one and all we have done over all this many centuries is exactly what he/she would wanted us to do.
The one thing I like the most about the book is when God says we are all one, and he/she loves us just the way we are, and there is nothing we can do to change that, simply because we are part of God and God has not right nor wrong.
@ Anonymous, you are incorrect because when Jesus Christ, the Second Person of the Blessed Trinity who is God, was on earth, He condemned all false religions and taught that He was the only way to salvation. He instituted the Catholic Church as the only means by which to be saved.

By all means read the book first to understand what it is about. If it doesn't agree with something you believe in, throw it away. Why take someone's word for it? Think for yourself, BECAUSE YOU CAN.
First of all, I would like to ask you to allow your audience to read my comments and allow them to make and informed decision. After all, that is part of the free will granted by God to all of us.
I was raised catholic and I remain a catholic to honor my parents. However, since my early childhood I started to question several things about catholicism. I served as altar boy in my local church. There, I learned the reverence given to statues from the saints, the virgins and Jesus. That, I had learned recently, was against God's will. I started noticing several other flaws of my religion. Like the several changes made to the bible based purely on political needs along the centuries as well as the declarations from several popes putting themselves pretty much at God's level. I knew I had to do something. I started my own search for God, since the one offered by my religion was not fulfilling my needs. I want you to understand that I am not a bad person. I've made mistakes during my life but I'm basically a good guy. During my journey, I came across Christians, Mormons, Buddhists and Muslims. I read everything they had for me. I have read the Book of Mormon, the Q'uran and the Bible. However, none of these texts made me feel any better. The level of fear that they inject in the reader is unbelievable. They all condition God's love to following a set of rules that no one can follow. We learn to fear God, not to love him. Then, I came across the CWG books, and simply put... when I closed the last book I was so joyful that I wanted to cry. Yes, there are lots if things that are hard to digest (Like thinking that Hitler went to heaven) but as you read, you start to understand the mechanical of Life (death included).
My message as another passenger in this planet, is that you should not avoid to read these books. On the contrary, these texts may have the answer to some of your questions. Then you let your heart decide. Never in my life have I felt any closer to God as I do today after finishing these books. I don't think that can possibly be a bad thing. It has been a great experience for me.
Happy living. See you all in heaven.
Anonymous, thank you for your comments. However, I must point out that reverencing the saints and the Virgin Mary is absolutely not against God's will. Rather, reverencing them is the will of God.

Also, the Catholic Church has never made changes to the Bible for political reasons. That is what the Protestants - not the Catholics - have done.
Thank you, Andy ni
From Meditations on "Conversations with God" :
"god‘s greatest moment is when you realize you need no god"
If this is not a misprint then it calls into question the usefulness of the book.
This book was passed on to me a few days ago by a friend who hadn't read it but thought I'd like to read it. I am a converted Catholic, pray regularly and feel that I have communication from God fairly frequently. As I read the first several pages, I got a very uncomfortable feeling about this guy. As I read further, I realized that God was telling me to stop reading this garbage. It goes against everything I was ever taught as a Protestant and as a convert to Catholicism. No devil? Really? No such thing as right or wrong? Really? I am very, very disturbed that the books have so many positive reviews. He is no prophet. He is not hearing from God. I pray that people will see the untruths he is writing. Walsch should stick to acting, and not writing, especially things that he claims to have heard from God.
