DaVinci Code Viewing at Cannes

Today the DaVinci Code, a book filled with lies, is being viewed at the Cannes Film Festival. In this book, Dan Brown claims such lies as Jesus not being divine, Jesus having children, and Opus Dei monks killing to keep secrets. Today is coincedentally the anniversary of the beatification of the founder of Opus Dei, St. Josemaría Escriva.

Please join me in prayer that through the intercession of St. Josemaría Escriva, St. Mary Magdalence, and all the angels and saints, Our Lord keep good people from believing the lies of this movie.

The first indications from Cannes are that the movie seems to be a turkey. But I'll keep praying.

There are five reviews posted on Rotten Tomatoes so far, and all five are ripping the movie to shreds.
No matter what side of this debate a person is on, a poorly made melodrama is a poorly made melodrama.

Wow! I love Josemaria! I was having a hard time writing my introduction to the Immaculate Conception Mass until I found one of HIS quotes!

(It's under the "Turn to Mary" link on my sidebar.)

Cool beans!

I think through the evil that is blatantly proclaimed in this book can come good - the opportunity to express the Truth. I learned so much about my faith by researching what is wrong with this book.

Liked the book. Really liked the movie. I don't believe the basic premise but am not afraid of it either. See the movie...how can you know how to argue against it if you haven't seen it? Because some Cardinal or your parish priest (who by the way is more likely than not, a homosexual) said so? Grow up and think for yourself!

By the way, what's the deal with the name, "moneybags". Now I know you're blindly pro-Mother Church.

Tony,

I'm advocating not paying to see the movie. I'd rather people rent it or check out the book at the library instead of Dan Brown making money off of a book that attacks the divinity of the Lord.

PS: My screenname came from Monopoly. I love the game and changed Pennybags to Moneybags to be original.
