Baptism: New vs. Old Rite

I recently bought a 1962 Missal of the Tridentine (Latin) Mass. I absolutely love it! The Missal includes so many sections including evening/morning prayers, Mass readings for the entire year, and information on the Sacraments. I personally was interested in seeing how the sacraments have changed since Vatican II, and Baptism has changed greatly.

To see the comparison of Sacrament Baptism in the Old and New Rites, see Fr. Carota's Page

I heard that a pinch of salt was placed on the baby's tongue and the priest would say "I give you the salt of wisdom."

Thanks for the link. I'm glad you took an interest in the old rite of baptism. Even charismatic catholics prefer it. Quite why it had to be so drastically rewritten is a matter of bafflement! If that's even a word?

Can you do me a favour? Let me know how you create that lovely feature on your blog whereby it explains the viewer is on an individual post? Thanks! And God bless!

I think your site is great. It is straight forward and honest; no crying babies. It is very informative to us as we make our way through the darkness of modernism.

May God our Lord in his infinite and supreme goodness be pleased to give us his abundant grace, that we may know his most holy will, and entirely fulfill it.
