Update in late 2007: She has died. Unfortunately she was never baptized and never rejected our atheistic ways.
Update: Today she was given a life expectancy of three more days by her doctor. Please pray for her soul.
Original Post: Her name is Lucille, and she is very ill and currently at a hospital. I would appreciate any prayers for her health, so that, if it be God's will, she will improve. But, most of all, I ask you to pray for her soul. She has held atheistic views all of her life. Please pray for her soul so that she might repent and believe like the Good Thief while she bears her final cross.

Will remember her tomorrow at Mass
My prayers.
You have my prayers for her and your family.
I will include her and your family in my prayers.
I will pray for her. If you want, I can send you a blessed green scapular from OLRL, my email address is katoliko87@yahoo.com If I send something on Tues, it usually reaches the other side of the country by Fri. But if you have issues about giving ur address to people, it's cool. I'm sure most Catholic book stores have them.
katoliko, thank you for the offer, but she would not accept anything religious like a scapular.
Prayers.
MB, so sorry to hear that MB. She will be in my prayers. Would she permit you to pray the divine Mercy Chaplet in front of her?
Esther, I don't know. I once sat down and had a discussion with her. She made it clear that she didn't have a problem with people who believed in God, but she said the idea of the Resurrection of the Body is absurd. She said that deceased bodies are decayed and eaten by insects - she doesn't believe in an afterlife either.
I am praying that she will repent and believe, just like the Good Thief, before she does die.
Faith is a gift, and because of the wounding of our nature through Original Sin, not everyone is open to that gift, sometimes through no fault of their own.
While you want your great-grandmother to come to the faith before she dies, I am sure that, if she has genuinely lived the best life she can, she will be welcomed home through your prayers.
I am sure there are many non-Christians who will get in ahead of some of us Catholics!
mac mclernon, i highly doubt that; since this is an inappropriate time and place to discuss this matter, i'll leave it with these words: extra ecclesiam nulla salus. mb, I will keep praying for the conversion of you great grandmother.
mb, if she refuses a green scapular, "it may be hidden in their vicinity and [you can say] the prayers" for her.

Prayers coming!!! (I also would add that you please pray for my uncle Lynn who suffered from two heart attacks and is not a Christian.) God Bless!
She is in my prayers as well as your family.
I've been praying for her at weekend and weekday masses.
Also
PBXVI: I'll pray for your uncle as well.
Peace
Moneybags,
I'm praying for her right now and will continue praying during Eucharistic Adoration tommorow as well as during daily Mass. My prayers are with you and your family, too.
In the love and peace of JMJ.
Jean
MB,
I have added your grandmother to my Community prayer line as well.
Pax,
Jean
