If you don't know what an indulgence is or how to get one, please view my Indulgences post.

December 31 Indulgence: A PLENARY INDULGENCE is granted when the Te Deum is recited publicly on the last day of the year. Otherwise a partial indulgence is granted to those who recite the Te Deum in thanksgiving.

January 1 Indulgence: A PLENARY INDULGENCE is granted when the Veni, Creator Spiritus is recited on the first of January or Pentecost.

Interesting blog. I live in england and got the linkl from Mark's blog in Scotland. Is the first picture Blackfriars, Oxford?
If I can be bold, why not work for good liturgy (old & new) in the maistream. youv are needed. I just feel the whole tridentine thing can be a re herring as, of course it should be available, but it is importnat to work for good celebrations of the liturgy. The best masses in London are novus ordo celebrations at Westminster Cathedral, Farm St etc. Good music and well drilled servers make a reverent liturgy. Indeed tridentine celebrations are oftern poor. I went to a Fraternity of S Peter one and the proiest clearly ddid not know what he was doing.
Best wishes to you in '08

The Monastery: Episode 4

I would reconsider some of your positions this year. Because what you called "Preposterous!", the Holy Father affirms, and you are living out.

"God has called each of us into being and gives us a personal task. God needs each of us and awaits our response." -- Benedict XVI, Vienna Konzerthaus, September 9, 2007.

We didn't say that at Mass yesterday...I forgot. Thanks for posting this and I'll remember to say it for today.

Glad to read your posts, hope things are doing well. I often think of you, especially since one of our parish priests is newly ordained and he reminds me of the picture I have of you.

I also have a story about a lady I know who totally rejected Vatican II and continues with everything before it. Let me know if you want me to email you the details.
