Today is the 2-year anniversary of the motu proprio, Summorum Pontificum, going into effect. The motu proprio was published on July 7, 2007, and went into effect on September 14, 2007. I wrote a lengthy reflection on the effect of Summorum Pontificum in light of Archbishop Lefebvre, Pope Benedict XVI, and various priests and bishops.
