Let us never forget September 11th, 2001, and the great people who died on that day. May God Bless America and may America praise and glorify God.

We had a special prayer service by the statue of the Blessed Mother after Mass today. Four graduates of our grammar school were lost in the towers collapse. We also have an annual feast down onour main shopping strip every year about this time. There was a candle light vigil there at 8:00 tonight, commemorating all those who lost their lives on that fateful day. From where my wife and I stood we could see the twin columns of light that shine into the sky every 9/11 from the very spot where the towers once stood. Our own Father Barozzi from our parish led the prayer, Taps was played and a recording of Schuberts Ave Maria. During this time all the lights up and down the fairway were turned off. We finished off with the National Anthem and Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the USA" which was sung with pride by people of all different the ethnic backrounds that one would expect in a NYC event and were represented in the roll call of names read at Ground Zero earlier in the day. We must never forget.

That sounds like a beautiful service with the light and Ave Maria (one of my favorite hymns). And you're right: we must never forget.
God Bless
