A Catholic Life: Prayer for Final Exams

I imagine most of my readers have noticed that I have posted much less this week than typically. It is simply because I have finals this week. Next week I hope to again continue my frequent postings!

Also, I have been having some trouble lately with an online Catholic forum because of my love for the Tridentine Mass and the Traditions of the Church. I would appreciate your prayers for the improvement of this situation.

This powerful prayer is very effective in examinations. It has to be said before appearing in the examination. There are two variants to this prayer. Both the prayers are equally effective. You can choose any one of these:

First Prayer

O Great St. Joseph of Cupertino who while on earth did obtain from God the grace to be asked at your examination only the questions you knew, obtain for me a like favour in the examinations for which I am now preparing. In return I promise to make you known and cause you to be invoked.

Through Christ our Lord.

St. Joseph of Cupertino, Pray for us.

Amen.

Second Prayer

O St. Joseph of Cupertino who by your prayer obtained from God to be asked at your examination, the only preposition you knew. Grant that I may like you succeed in the (here mention the name of Examination eg. History paper I ) examination.

In return I promise to make you known and cause you to be invoked.

O St. Joseph of Cupertino pray for me

O Holy Ghost enlighten me

Our Lady of Good Studies pray for me

Sacred Head of Jesus, Seat of divine wisdom, enlighten me.

Remember, when you succeed in the exams then you should thank St. Joseph of Cupertino.

I am scared of failing, but whenever I have prayed to our father God, he has answered my prayers and I have always passed. Of course, I do study; but the questions always seem...answerable...in a way.
But, I ask please pray for me to pass my Chemistry Final Exam today. Please pray for my brother and my friends to pass the Chemistry final Exam that we all have today at 2:15.
This exam is very important, as I need it for my Major, and for my friends and my brother's major. They want to work in the medical fields and I in criminal justice and law. Please pray with us and for us.

I know studied to the fullest for my board exam in pediatrics and so did I for the last 8 times I took it. I prayed this prayer in this website and I just cant believe what a difference it had made in me understanding the questions and finished the exam with such ease.when I got my results it was not only a pass but with a high score. I have said the St. Joseph of Cupertino prayer before every exam since 2006. That prayer has ssen me through LPN school, LPN state board certification and also seen me through the Registered Nursing Program however I recently attempted to sit for my state board certification to become a Registered Nurse of which the outcome was horrific. I will continue to pray for assistance from St. Joseph of Cupertino during my study time and when I sit before the state boards again. As fate would have it, the night before my exam I came across the prayer I have listed above and within the prayer there is mention of academic future and I wonder if that was a sign from my higher power. I know only God has the answer, but I am wondering why at the very end I was unable to succeed. I applied myself just as hard for this exam as I have applied for my others. I never took my studies lightly. I will keep praying and hope I do better on the next exam. God please help me and everyone else through these hard times. Amen!

I am praying that I will get a passing score so I can be an elementary teacher. God has been with me on my journey through this entire process. Though there has been many obstacles that tried to stop me from being a teacher, for some reason God has always opened up the door, and allowed me to conquer what I set out to do. I wake up every day thankful for my life that I have, along with my husband and children and family and friends. it has taken everyone to believe in me, and also to learn to believe in myself. I know that God hears my prayers, and I believe he was with me during my examination. If it is my time, he will let it be. I love the Lord, and he showers me with his blessings everyday, whether it be an exam, or any hardship. I am so greatful to God!

Anonymous said...: Last night, I prayed these two St. Joseph of Cupertino prayers, plus a Holy Souls in Purgatory prayer for my student to pass her Certification exam today. She tried passing this exam 4 weeks ago and she was not successful. But now with prayer, I believe she was able to pass her retake exam today! I'm so happy for her as she has worked so hard for this. She was in tears of joy!! I am now praying tonight for her to pass her other retake exam tomorrow.

But I just wanted to say thank you for the intercessions from St Joseph and the Holy Souls. And most importantly, many thanks and praises to our Lord!!! He is truly an awesome God!! Blessed be to all!!

Anonymous said...: This aweson kid name Wendall needs your prayer to pass his ACT with scoring 30 this coming October, and Prayers to get A's and B's in all of his Classes. He needs to get a full ride in a Christian university with out a full money he won't be able to rise above the poverty he is living in chicago. His parent won't be able to pay for his college education, they don't have the money, but they do have love for God. Wendall is a good kid and loves the lord and want's to honor him. He prayers morning and night and reads God word,He hasn't had any good luck lately with the Act and is trying very hard, but the test score keeps coming back low. Wendall trying hard to get himself and his mom and dad out of poverty. He is too young to tithe,but he gives in church what he can give. He also kind and patience helping others kids and giving to them and denies himself. Something has gotten give for this kid. He has great parents and though they don't have much, they all have each other. Wendall comes from a low poverty area. He worry because he wants to get into a university of his choice, if any. God has to hear this prayer and help him. He is not lazy and he does his work in school, he just has problems in taking exams. Please ask God to help Wendall and give this kid a chance to rise above poverty, he does even have a decent bed to sleep on, but he does mine and he never complaint because that's the kind of senior this kid is. Let's pray and ask God to help this kid score high this and give him Wendall hope, he is not asking for money or a new place to live, he said he just want to go to a good university and he know that he can do the work. Just needs hope to know that God is helping him. If anyone is out there and has some pull, give this young man a chance into your university you won't be sorry.

My finals for my gcse are in a weeks time..and yes I've been slacking off for most of it...but for some reason just could not bring myself to study..always seeking distractions...and much like everyone elce I have parents who expect great marks..and why shouldn't they ..they invest a lot of money into me and my education...so in desperate hope I prayed to god for help then came online..I typed in a few simple words "god hel me in my examinations please " and this was he first link that turned up..reading the comments and all the help you guys received I was determined to pray and put in my best efforts..this may seem irrelevant to you all..but you've helped me in a time of need..and I'm completely grateful..pray for me ?

Adrienne said...: I am taking a pediatric critical care certification test for nurses in a couple days. It's a difficult exam and has limited resources for pediatric nurses to utilize. I'm getting burnt out from studying and can't seem to improve my practice test scores. I came across this prayer looking for a little extra support during this time, so thank you. I'm trying to stay positive and confident and I feel it waivering a bit. Any extra thoughts and prayers to send in my direction would be greatly appreciated. :)

I want to thank you for helping me pass my resit examinations which I thought would be IMPOSSIBLE. Never in my life have I been in so much despair but with your intercession I miraculously pulled through.

Now I'm about to face 4 more exams and I'm extremely stressed about them as well and losing motivation for no reason. Please guide me in these as well, I will be ever grateful for it. Please I need you help and also thank you for helping out everyone on this page.
