God or the Girl: Update on my own vocation

The blogsphere has been filled with news on the recent A&E production: "God or the Girl". Since I am also contemplating the priesthood, I was really interested in seeing the show. And, after seeing the first episode I'm really hoping that some of them will answer the call we need priests so much. That is why I want to follow Our Lord. I'm finding it a very interesting show, but I'm really interested in how it will all turn out.

Next Sunday is Divine Mercy Sunday, and I will be meeting with my diocese's vocations director concerning the priesthood. This is really important to get the process started. Please keep me in your prayers during this time.

Thank you all!

Moneybags, You have been on my mind and in my prayers all week. I've felt compelled to pray for you, so I have been. I also watched some of the two shows that aired tonight, and I am somewhat hopeful that it will turn out to be a great representation of what young men must discern on their way to the priesthood. Of course, you were in my thoughts the entire time I watched the show. Unfortunately, I did not see the whole episode, and I forget to set the VCR, so I'll have to wait for the encore presentation to get them on tape. My 10 year old son has mentioned that he has felt a call, but I refuse to "push" this with him. I would love to see him enter the priesthood, of course, but I also know that he would make a wonderful father. Whatever God calls him to, I know I feel so blessed to have been graced with his life.

Enjoy this wonderful Easter week, and Divine Mercy Sunday. I will continue to keep you in my prayers.

Also, the prayers I requested from you this week have been felt. My daughter came today and we have been experiencing some real healing...

I had a tough choice last night. At the same time as the A & E show, one of our channels was airing the first part of the sequel to "Karol, A Man Who Would Be Pope". You can guess what I chose ;) Then I fell asleep before the repeat on A & E. Oh well, there's always tonight.

Moneybags, you have my prayers. God needs men like you to answer His call.

Among the several patronages of the Infant Jesus of Prague are peace and vocations. I'm praying to Him that you will be filled with His Peace and that you will clearly and easily discern your vocation.

God bless you, Moneybags!
