Homosexual Marriage in Uganda

I heard about this piece of news today and wanted to post it. Following the legalization of homosexual marriage in Spain, I learned that Uganda has actually criminalized same sex marriage.

The amendment specifies that "marriage is lawful only if entered into between a man and a woman." It also states that "it is unlawful for same-sex couples to marry." One-hundred eleven members of parliament voted in favor of the amendment while 17 opposed it and 3 abstained.

The penalties for violating the amendment have not yet been set, but will be determined at a later date when the penal code is revised to accommodate the change in the Constitution.

I totally agree that same-sex marriage is antithetical to what marriage is...but make it a criminal act?

I'm glad I live in the USA. Far from perfect, but the best system I have come in contact with.

I'm unsure if it should be made a criminal act, but at least Uganda has taken a stand against what our current media is showing. And you don't see the media talking about Uganda but rather Canada and Spain.

And I would agree with our country not perfect but a land of freedom. I think our country could be one of the best on earth if only we valued God first and then abortion would be only a sad chapter in a high school history book.

In response to your first paragraph, you got that right.

In response to your second: one can only continue to work within the system to change it, and PRAY without ceasing.
