Transalpine Redemptorists Video

I found this wonderful 17-minute video posted on Fifty Sophomoric Summers. It is about the Transapline Redemptorists in Scotland.

without the SSPX, i highly doubt they would exist. i think the TLM would have just died without the Society making a stance.

I think anon has a point. It was the Society that promoted the continual celebration of the tridentine rite when almost every parish in the world were smashing ancient high altars and casting relics into fires. Also without the Society, there wouldn't Apostolic Life Societies (in Full communion with Rome) like the FSSP, IGS, ICKSP around. Although many of us do not agree with some of their doctrines, it is clear that God always brings out the best in every bad circumstance. However, (in response to you sentence on reconciliation) it is unlikely we'll see any reconciliation between the SSPX & Rome.

Their June 2006 edition of 'The Catholic' contains a good article on why the decline in priestly vocations. That is if you manage to get hold of a copy. I've read it and I think the final analysis is: No Identity = No Vocations, Discernment outside the Seminary = Lost of Vocations.
